Solar Rebate Programs
The Solar Homes program through Efficiency Nova Scotia offers rebates of .30¢/watt up to $3,000. Our team can provide assistance In completing the application and submitting the required documents. Pre-approval is required to receive this grant and the application should be submitted once Nova Scotia Power has approved the installation plan.
Canada Greener Homes offers solar customers access to a CMHC interest free loan up to $40,000. 1st Electric Inc. is not able to assist customers with the application as it is a federal program and must be completed by the customer. As a prerequisite, a Home Energy Assessment must be completed prior to applying to this program. Our office can provide a list of companies that offer a home energy assessment service.
What To Expect

When you contact 1st Electric Inc. you will receive friendly and professional service. Our office team will request the following documents from you: Nova Scotia Power bill, type of roof (asphalt or steel), pitch of roof, dimensions of building and an exterior photo.
Solar Proposal
Our solar specialist will use the information provided to create a solar design and proposal that best suits your needs. A site visit will be conducted if required, and our team will be available to answer any questions you may have throughout the entire process. Once the proposal is approved the installation process will begin.
Installation Process
Our team will coordinate all of the required document submissions to Nova Scotia Power, municipal permits and any necessary engineering assessments. Once plans have been approved and permits issued, the equipment will be ordered, and the installation dates secured. We prioritize safety and all work will be completed as weather conditions permit.
